Story
Last year, I started training to run Manchester Half in October. After unbelievable support, my original target of £1000 was met in under 24 hours. I therefore increased the target to £10 000, and added a further 9 Half Marathons, and a Full Marathon into the mix. One year on, I have completed this challenge, running Leeds Marathon on May 10th.. but we’re not done yet! I couldn’t be prouder to be running for Victim Support, a charity dedicated to helping people rebuild their lives after being victim crime.
In October 2022, during my final year at university, I was sexually assaulted. After nearly two and a half years, a three-day trial, and a two-month wait for sentencing, the person who assaulted me was sentenced to prison.
Whilst my journey over the last few years has been far from easy, it's opened my eyes to the reality of these kinds of crimes, and the importance of support and awareness.
Over the coming months, I will be sharing my story to raise awareness and help break the stigma surrounding sexual assault. I've been fortunate to receive overwhelming love and support during one of the most difficult periods of my life, and now it's my turn to give back.
Your support means the world, and will hopefully make a huge difference for those navigating their own paths to recovery 🤍
Over the last few months, I’ve learned you really never know when you’ll need the vital work that Victim Support carry out. Here’s to helping people move beyond crime🫶🏼
