Victim Support is an independent charity. We are dedicated to supporting people affected by crime and traumatic incidents in England and Wales and we put them at the heart of our organisation. We provide specialist help and services to support people to cope and recover.

Story

This October, I’m proud to be running Manchester Half in aid of Victim Support, a charity dedicated to helping people rebuild their lives after being victim crime.

In October 2022, during my final year at university, I was sexually assaulted. After nearly two and a half years, a three-day trial, and a two-month wait for sentencing, the person who assaulted me was sentenced to prison.

Whilst my journey over the last few years has been far from easy, it’s opened my eyes to the reality of these kinds of crimes, and the importance of support and awareness.

Over the coming months, I will be sharing my story to raise awareness and help break the stigma surrounding sexual assault. I’ve been fortunate to receive overwhelming love and support during one of the most difficult periods of my life, and now it’s my turn to give back.

Your support means the world, and will hopefully make a huge difference for those navigating their own paths to recovery 🤍
