I'm lacing up my hiking boots and setting my alarm before sunrise for a challenge that will push me out of my comfort zone while supporting an incredible cause.

On 5 September, I'll be taking on the Cleveland 4 Peaks Sunrise Challenge, a 13-mile walk across Roseberry Topping, Captain Cook's Monument, Codhill Heights and Highcliffe Nab. Setting off before dawn, I'll watch the sun rise over the North East and take in some incredible views along the way.

I'm taking part to raise vital funds for the Great North Air Ambulance Service, a charity that provides life-saving care to people who are seriously injured or critically ill across our region.

The service receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations to keep its helicopters flying and its critical care teams ready to respond when they're needed most.

Any donation, big or small, will help this vital service continue saving lives.
