Story
This Autumn, Regenerate are opening their 2nd Feel Good Coffee House, which will transform the lives of local young people. To support this, I’m joining a group of young people who work at Feel Good, together with staff and other supporters of Regenerate, to trek 90 miles Coast to Coast along Hadrian's Wall Path; from the North Sea in Tynemouth to the Irish Sea in Bowness-on-Solway.
Regenerate works locally with young people across Wandsworth who are facing barriers to finding work. They offer employment, training, and mentoring, helping young people build the confidence and skills they need to succeed. They're all about seeing potential, getting to know each young person as an individual, and supporting them in a meaningful way. They have been doing this for over 25 years and have supported thousands of young people to achieve their potential.
Their first Feel Good coffee shop in Southfields has been a huge success, employing over 50 young people on a year long apprentice programme. Their second coffee shop in Tooting will grow this work and allow them to reach more young people who are in desperate need of support.
As part of the training programme, Regenerate periodically takes on adventure challenges, partly as a fund-raising exercise, but also to take young people outside their normal environment in order to build self-confidence and broaden their expectations of themselves. This is something that I personally believe strongly in and want to support. Walking the length of Hadrian’s Wall in just five days (18 miles per day average) is a perfect example of this kind of challenge!
We will be starting our journey on 12th October. I will post a link to Strava and provide regular updates for anyone interested in following our progress.
Please sponsor me on my journey to raise funds for this vital service. It’s a cause really close to my heart, and one worth taking on such an immense challenge for!
