Story
One of my best friends of over 50 years Jimmy Patten was diagnosed with a brain tumour (Glioblastoma) last June and died in May 26
I wanted to do something in his honour and a cycle ride to raise money for Brain Tumour Research seemed the perfect option. Brain Tumour Research is the only national charity focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours.
Why Luton to Edinburgh?
Jimmy lived in Luton while working for Nat West Bank in St Albans in the 1990s, was from Preston and went to University in Edinburgh in the 1980s.
He was a great friend, big PNE fan not much of a cyclist (though we did get him on 50th and 60th rides where the cover pic is from plus a few others from ourC2C ride in 2013) and was a real pillar of the community -serving as a councillor, being elected Penwortham mayor and helping set up Kingsfold Junior Football Club
Help fund the fight and help us remember Jimmy.
