Rob Amar is raising money for PROSTATE CANCER UK

Team: 100 Holes 1 Day £200k

100 Holes - 1 Day - £100k · 23 June 2025

Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

On Monday 23 June I am joining a team of passionate golfers teeing off in the early hours to play 100 holes of golf in a single day, with no buggies, at the beautiful Beaconsfield Golf Club to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK and Breast Cancer Now.

Some of you will remember in 2022 I completed 72 holes in a day – this time we’re going bigger:

- 100 holes (5½ rounds)

- Approx. 33 miles / 53km / 60,000+ steps

- Tee off 4:30am – finish when we finish!

We are aiming to raise £100k through sponsorship, and an additional £100k through a 100-item auction of generously-donated prizes.

Our story...

Dave Booker (Beaconsfield GC captain) lost his wife to breast cancer and is committed to raising funds for Breast Cancer Now. Following his own diagnosis, Mark Taylor and friends raised over £48k last year for Prostate Cancer UK by playing 72 holes in a day.

This year, they’re hoping to smash that target - setting a record with a team of 36 players and raising funds for both charities.

Helping them club together against cancer will be a host of sporting legends and beloved TV stars, playing the 100, or helping to promote the event across social media. Those up for the challenge include Kenny & Gabby Logan, Craig Chalmers, Lawrence Dallagio, Allan Lamb and Kirsty Gallacher - with more names set to join the big charity drive!

Prostate Cancer UK is dedicated to saving and improving men’s lives by funding groundbreaking research, improving tests and treatments, raising awareness of risk factors, and providing expert support. Their goal is to ensure every man has access to better diagnosis, care, and ultimately, a national screening programme.

Breast Cancer Now is a charity steered by world-class research and powered by life-changing care. They are there for anyone affected by breast cancer, the whole way through, providing support for today and hope for the future. Their mission is that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live – and be supported to live well.
