Story
From 4th to 8th June, I will be taking part in the London to Paris cycle ride in support of Cure Leukaemia.
The ride itself is a significant distance for a novice like me – 310 miles over 4 days - and, to be honest, well outside of my comfort zone. I only bought a bike in October and am still very much in training. In fact, I’m still trying to get to grips with the whole concept of serious cycling – the outfits and paraphernalia! This will be a genuine test for me!
Cure Leukaemia is an amazing charity which funds specialist research nurses, across the UK, who enable patients to take part in clinical trials and access new treatments that would otherwise not be available locally. Their work helps bring promising therapies to patients much faster and significantly improves survival rates.
Understanding what Cure Leukaemia does makes it feel even more worthwhile to be putting myself through some temporary pain in the hope of avoiding much greater hardship for so many others.
If you are able to contribute, please do – and thank you. I have paid for all of the costs covering the trip, so every penny of your donation will help support patients and the research teams working to improve outcomes.
Your sponsorship will also help keep my little legs pumping all the way to Paris!
