Story
We are raising funds and awareness for the Bone Cancer Research Trust, with not one but TWO challenges this year.
The challenges are being undertaken by friends and family of Jen Bellamy, who was diagnosed with primary bone cancer at the beginning of last year, and friends and colleagues of Robyn, from Vets 4 Pets in Cleveleys.
Challenge 1 – The Team Clyde Trophy Walk – 18th May 2025
Primary bone cancer is rare... it’s also rare for teams outside the ‘big five’ of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool to lift the Premier League trophy. In fact, only two teams have done that since the league was formed in 1992.
One of those rare teams is Blackburn Rovers (Jen’s team), who lifted the trophy thirty years ago this year on the 14th May at Anfield. So this year, the weekend after the anniversary of that happening, Team Clyde will be walking from the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool (where Jen gets her treatment) to Anfield and then will be ‘bringing the trophy home’ from Anfield to Ewood Park, on Sunday 18th May.
We have a route (36.2 miles), with checkpoints along the way. People are invited to join us to walk as little or as much of the route as they want to, which will be finishing at Ewood Park.
We are also inviting folk to donate to help support those doing the walk and to raise funds for the vital work being done by the Bone Cancer Research Trust.

Challenge 2 – The Team Clyde Trek – 7th-8th June 2025
The Lake District Ultra Challenge is taking place on 7th and 8th June this year, and Team Clyde will be taking on the 50k challenge on 7th June trekking 50km, with a 1300m climb, from the Kendal basecamp to Windermere
Robyn’s story...
“Do you know when you have that friend who just gets you? Who you can just be yourself with? When as soon as you walk into the house you are treated like family. Well that's my friend Jen and last year she was diagnosed with bone cancer. Since then she has been through surgery and extremely arduous chemotherapy . It has been brutal but at every step Jen has remained one of the most positive and joyful people that I have the pleasure of knowing.
So my daughter and I made the decision that we want to do something to help people living with bone cancer.
Clyde, in typical Jen style, is what she has christened her cancer, who also happens to be an adorable little orangutan. So it seemed an obvious choice for the name of our team! 🦧
We’d love it if you’d like to join Team Clyde by joining in with either (or both!) of the Team Clyde challenges, or helping support those doing the challenges by donating to help us raise as much as we can for the Bone Cancer Research Trust.
About the Bone Cancer Research Trust
The Bone Cancer Research Trust is dedicated to saving lives & improving outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer. Despite being small, they fund more research projects exploring primary bone cancer than any other organisation. Other large UK cancer research charities do not prioritise bone cancer patients, in 2019 just 0.028% of their research spend went to bone cancer – not even close to 1%!
Last year alone, Bone Cancer Research Trust committed an incredible £807,824 to pioneering bone cancer research - to save lives!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and please support us if you can, even a little can make a real difference!
