Story
On September 12th we are running - walking - rolling - pushing a wheelbarrow (or really whatever takes our fancy!) in a hundred mile relay race round Knowle village where our 15th century church building sits.
It is a living building that has changed over the centuries to accommodate the ever-shifting needs of the congregation and of the community.
The ‘For Future Generations’ project will make changes to the interior of the building to provide a more welcoming entrance annexe incorporating catering facilities and accessible toilets.
The simpler and more adaptable church interior will provide level, easier access around the building and more comfortable seating. It will suit modern forms of church service and better suit the needs of other users such as local schools and village societies.
New heating, lighting and AV systems will further enhance the way the building can be used.
Together, the proposed changes reflect our desire to fulfil our vision statement … to be a house of God’s light for all peoples and generations.
