Rose Ellen Woodmass is raising money for OCULAR MELANOMA UK

OMUK Camino de Santiago Trek · 7 October 2026 to 11 October 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Our OMUK walkers will cover the final 67km of the historic Camino Frances, beginning in Palas de Rei. Over three days the route leads through gentle green countryside, small villages and peaceful woodland as they make their way towards Santiago.

Story

As you know in February 2023, I was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma (Eye cancer) it is an aggressive cancer, which at the moment has no cure and treatment is limited on the NHS

I have no sight in my right eye, due to this have both balance and depth perception issues, however nI am determined with your support to trek this leg of the Camino de Santiago

OMUK supports hundreds of people each year with calm, trusted information and emotional support. Their helpline, psychological services and community groups provide reassurance at moments when people feel unsure or isolated. They also work with clinicians and policy makers to improve understanding of ocular melanoma and strengthen care across the UK.

Recently holding a reception in parliament with MP's to try and gain support for the Rare Cancer Bill (which is now Act) and to try to get interim treatment support of the NHS for those living with Stage 4

Your donation will help OMUK continue this essential work, from expert guidance at diagnosis to support for families adjusting to life with ocular melanoma. Every contribution helps ensure that no one faces this disease without clear information and a supportive community around them.

Thank you for helping me support OMUK.
