Working at Lawrence Batley Theatre, I see every day the difference that the arts make to people's lives. From inspiring performances to creative opportunities for young people and the wider community, it's a place that means so much to so many - We really do make magic happen !

That's why I've decided to step well outside my comfort zone and take part in our Firewalk Challenge on Saturday 8 August.

Am I nervous? Absolutely - but I'm even more excited to be raising money for a charity that I care deeply about.

If you could donate - even the smallest amount - it really does make a difference and I would be so grateful.

Lawrence Batley Theatre is at the heart of live performance in Kirklees and as a registered charity, it relies on the generosity of supporters to continue its vital work.

Every year, the theatre hosts more than 450 performances, workshops, and events, reaching over 80,000 people both in the theatre and across the wider community. Beyond the stage, its work makes a real difference to people’s lives.

More than 6,000 local people take part in creative sessions each year, helping to build confidence, inspire creativity, foster pride in the community, and bring people together.

By supporting this Firewalk Challenge, you are helping Lawrence Batley Theatre continue to share the magic of theatre with local people and ensure that these opportunities remain accessible for everyone.

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference.
