Story
Roxanna Panufnik’s arrangement of the gorgeous Maronite Syriac Christmas hymn 'Glory be to the Word' is being sent to choir directors all over the world. They will donate £3 for every copy they print, if their choir wishes to perform it. (Email fundraiser@roxannapanufnik.com for a perusal score and midi rendition.) There are currently 35+ performances all over the UK, Australia, Ireland, USA and NZ - check here if there's one near you!
The money raised will go to support Three Peas, a fabulous charity helping refugees (including many from the Middle East) stranded in camps on Greek Islands.
World-renowned illustrator Axel Scheffler, 'The Gruffalo', 'The Snail and the Whale', has drawn the stunning illustration to go alongside the Carol. You have the chance to bid on this wonderful original picture here until 10th December 2024 at 8pm British time. Proceeds will go towards supporting Three Peas' work.
Three Peas says: ‘We could not be more grateful to our patrons Roxanna and Axel for their continuous support over the years. Thanks to their generosity and commitment we can carry on supporting those who need it most.’
Two years ago, Roxanna raised a whopping £9,000 for The Refugee Council with a Ukrainian carol 'Sleep, Jesus, Sleep' - 51 live performances throughout the UK, Ireland and the US.
Donate, perform the carol or buy Axel's illustration and help us to beat that!
