Dusting off my dancing shoes for Derbyshire’s finest causes!

As many of you know, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone (and out of retirement!) to take part in this year’s Derbyshire Unstrictly Come Dancing fundraiser.

While I might have a bit of dance history way back in the day, age, a dodgy back, and knees make hitting the floor on June 27th, 2026, a whole new ball game! But it is worth every single step because I’m incredibly proud to be joining a group of other brave individuals to raise vital funds for four incredible local charities. Every penny raised stays right here in our community, changing lives when and where it's needed most.

The fantastic causes we are dancing for:

• The Lewis Sewell Trust: This wonderful charity keeps the memory of a talented young performer alive by breaking down financial barriers for aspiring actors. They provide the funding needed for theatre school auditions, ensuring talent—not bank balances—determines a young person's future.

• The Living Recovery Foundation: Recovery is a journey no one should have to walk alone. This foundation provides a lifeline of hope, a supportive community, and practical help for individuals and families working hard to rebuild their lives on the road to recovery.

• Rebuild East Midlands: Facing life's most brutal and challenging circumstances can leave people completely isolated. Rebuild does exactly what its name says—they step in across our region to provide the deep, vital support people need to piece their lives back together and find safety and independence.

• Derby Kids' Camp & Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre: Every child deserves a break, a chance to explore, and a memory to look back on with a smile. These two incredible organizations fund life-changing holidays and outdoor adventures for local kids who otherwise would never get the chance to experience a vacation.

I’m putting in the hours, surviving the rehearsals, and getting ready to give it my absolute all on the big night.
