Story
On 12th October 2025, I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to support Grief Encounter, a charity that helps children and young people navigate their grief after the loss of someone close to them.
I was 23 when we lost our beautiful mum, and nearly five and a half years later, we still feel the impact of that loss. Grief looks different for everyone, but I know how vital it is to have support during such a challenging time. Losing someone at any age is tough, but for children and young people, having guidance as they navigate a new world is especially crucial.
Grief Encounter provides that essential support through counselling, workshops, and practical help tailored to each child's needs. I’m running in memory of my mum and to raise money for a cause that truly makes a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Any donation, big or small, is hugely appreciated.
A bit about Grief Encounter:
Grief can be overwhelming for children trying to understand and cope with loss. Their free bereavement services help young people heal and rebuild their lives. One parent shared: “Since Grief Encounter’s support, my son has returned to school with a spring in his step and has attended every day. He told me, ‘When Dad died I was 90% broken, and now I feel 10% broken.’ I really can’t thank Grief Encounter enough.”
By supporting my run for the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2025, you’ll help fund these life-changing services that give more children the chance to find hope and healing. My target is £1,000 — every donation makes a real difference.
Please help me reach my goal and support children through their grief. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
