Are you looking for a New Year challenge? This February, people of all ages (who are healthy and able) are being encouraged to take a sponsored cold-water dip in aid of Dementia Support at Sage House.

Story

We’re a group of brave (and slightly chilly!) ladies taking on the Dip for Dementia challenge in the sea at Felpham to raise vital funds and awareness for Sage House and the incredible work they do supporting people living with dementia and their families.

This cause is deeply personal to us. Helen’s mum, Joy Godfrey, is currently battling this cruel disease, and we are also dipping in loving memory of those who are no longer with us but were taken or affected by dementia: Agnes Dean, Michelle’s nan - George Bartlett, Ruth’s Dad and Marie Campbell, Ruth’s Mother-in-Law.

Dementia touches so many lives, often quietly and relentlessly. Sage House provides compassion, guidance, and practical support at a time when families need it most — and we’re proud to be supporting them (even if it means plunging into cold water!).

Every donation, big or small, helps make a real difference. Thank you so much for supporting us, supporting Sage House, and standing with everyone affected by dementia 💙

Dementia is now the leading cause of death in the UK. It’s a devastating and complex condition. Every 3 minutes somebody will develop dementia. There is no cure. There are 900,000 people with dementia in the UK. We at Dementia Support are there for all those who need our help. We reduce loneliness, give the best quality care and provide hope, supporting the whole family.
