Story

Ruth plans to walk the South West costal path starting in May and finishing in July 2025, 631 miles, day in day out and finishes on her 60th Birthday.

Our mum has planned to do this for many years, originally with Peter, her husband and our Dad by her side. They enjoyed many holidays in Devon and Cornwall over the years and shared a love for walking next to the Sea. The South coast holds many happy memories for us all as a family.

Sadly our Dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and later died in Ashgate Hospice in 2016. Ashgate hospice provided outstanding care and support to our Dad and us all as a family, during his treatment to months after he passed.

The beautiful but gruelling walk our mum is setting out to do, involves her walking up to 20 miles some days and is the equivalent height to walking Mount Everest 4x all on her own.

Myself and my Brother, and all her family and friends are very proud and excited for her to start this walk, and hoping to raise lots of funds to show how grateful and thankful we are to have an amazing hospice in our area.

Please donate what you can and follow her Instagram page to see her adventure unfold on Ruthsswcpadventure_adventure.

Thank you in advance
