Story
This September, I will take on the London to Brighton Cycle Ride in memory of our beautiful daughter Thea Lily Packer, who tragically passed away in February last year, aged 2.
I’m cycling from Clapham in South London to Brighton, on the south coast of England (60mi/ 100km) in support of St George’s Hospital Charity, who helped care for Thea and supported us during the most devastating time of our lives. The team at St George’s did everything they possibly could for our girl. They treated her with dignity, compassion and incredible professionalism, and they wrapped our family in kindness when we needed it most.
The doctors, nurses and staff at St George’s were not only focused on Thea’s treatment, they were there for us too — guiding us, supporting us and helping us navigate the unimaginable.
Every donation — no matter the size — will help St George’s continue their vital work, supporting children and families when they need it most.
Thank you, truly, for your support. It means more than I can say.
P.S. Thea learned to ride a pedal bike when she was just two years old and would always ask, “Daddy, can I go out on the road?” This ride feels like a very fitting tribute to her. 💙
P.P.S. I’ll also be riding with my brother-in-law Alex Harvey and close friends John Halliday, Dave Worner and Andy Vernon who are all fundraising for the same cause. We bring a healthy mix of cycling and general athletic ability — ranging from “anti-cyclist” to "hobby rider"… all the way through to an ex-British Olympian runner.
