ryan sheppard is raising money for Crohn’s & Colitis UK

walking the national three peaks challenge · 4 July 2026

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

In September 2017, at just 14 years old, I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. The challenges began months before the diagnosis, with extreme pain and the inability to walk or eat properly leading to a significant weight loss. At 16, I underwent gastrointestinal surgery to remove part of my bowel and intestine. This surgery marked a turning point, allowing me to gradually regain my physical health and strength.

Today, I am preparing to walk the National Three Peaks Challenge on 4 July 2026 to raise funds for Crohn’s & Colitis UK. This personal trek is not only a test of endurance but also a mission to spread awareness about Crohn's disease—a condition affecting an estimated 500,000 people in the UK, many of whom suffer in silence because the disease remains largely misunderstood.

My goal is to raise £500 to support vital treatments and surgeries that can improve lives and help those living with Crohn's experience a pain-free future. I am doing this not just for myself but for everyone whose life has been turned upside down by this lifelong illness. Together, we can bring hope and better care to thousands who need it most.

Please join me in supporting this cause by donating today. Your contribution will make a real difference in advancing research and improving quality of life for people living with Crohn’s disease.
