I will be running the London marathon for Asthma and Lung UK. A charity that fights for everyone’s right to breath and supports people and families with lung conditions. Having been lucky enough to be awarded a charity place I’m hoping to do my part and raise some money for this great cause.

It’s a charity close to my family’s heart and does so much to support people young and old who are impacted by lung conditions. I choose this charity as my mother suffers from C.O.P.D, a progressive degenerative lung disease. She was a runner and all round athlete as a child so I'd like to think I'm running the marathon in part for her as she no longer can.

She has defied a bleak prognosis and the odds for a number of years and is due to the support of the NHS and charities such as Asthma & Lung UK.

I've never ran more than a half marathon before training for this and with 2 knee surgeries from an old rugby injury this will be a challenge!
