Story
Reflecting on the past year as a runner, I am filled with gratitude for the journey that Allah (SWT) has allowed me to experience.
In 2025, I cheered from the sidelines as my friends took on the London Marathon, witnessing firsthand the scale and prestige of this world-major marathon.
Now, Alhamdulillah, I have been given the opportunity to run the 2026 London Marathon myself. Long before securing this spot, I set a firm intention: if I were to ever run this race, it would be for a cause that is very close to my heart. Insha’Allah, I hope to honour that intention!
At the minute, Sudan is currently facing what has been described as the worst humanitarian crisis in recorded history. The reality on the ground is genuinely heartbreaking.
More than 11.5 million people have been forced to flee their homes, the highest number of displaced people in any country in the world. Half of the entire country (25.6 million people) is facing a food crisis, with 750,000 people experiencing "catastrophic hunger" on a scale not seen since the Darfur crisis. Families are enduring extreme violence, outbreaks of disease, and the total breakdown of healthcare.
How your support can make a difference! Whether it is £15 to provide hygiene essentials or £50 to feed a family for a month, every penny goes directly toward easing the hardship for our brothers and sisters facing unimaginable conflict.
Your donations provide a vital lifeline through:
• Mobile Clinics: Providing medical care for malaria, malnutrition, and pregnancy care for thousands of displaced people.
• Emergency Nutrition: Delivering daily bread, hot meals, and nutritious food parcels to families who have lost everything.
• Protection for the Vulnerable: Supporting orphans with food and emergency care, and providing hygiene kits for girls and women to preserve their health and dignity.
As the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to people.” al-Mu’jam al-Awsaṭ lil-Ṭabarānī 6026
