Rob and Sadie's Wheelchair Challenge for

Muscular Dystrophy Support Centre. Sunday,1 June 2025.

Anyone who knows Rob and I will be aware of my rare condition of Facioscapulohumeral Dystrophy. This muscle wasting condition has not only affected my upper body, arms, neck and shoulders, but it's also slowly taking my legs. Since having to retire from work, I am transitioning into a wheelchair. I absolutely hate it. I know hate is a very strong word, but I'm having to accept this is the way forward. However, it's not all about me. Rob has been an incredible support, adapting to my needs and putting up with my frustrations. He's absolutely brilliant.

But we both know that without the support from https://mdsupportcentre.org/ we would not be where we are today.

I have been going to MDSC for four years for Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, online Pilates, advice, support and all round well-being, and so much more for people with this debilitating condition.

We would like to thank them by doing 'Rob and Sadie's 6 Mile Wheelchair Challenge' on Sunday,1 June 2025. I will post our route nearer the time.

♿️THE CHALLENGE

Rob has challenged me to be pushed in my wheelchair for 6 miles around Hinckley which, for me will be a huge as I won't go anywhere in the local area where people can see me. Call it vain, but I'd rather be walking!
