Story
This February I am taking on the Sahara Marathon to raise awareness for Sandblast Charity and the Saharawi people.
These people are in a situation many of us could never even contemplate, a conflict and refugee camp which most will never of even heard of. People having to flee their homeland and set up temporary camps but 50 years later they are still living there.
Sandblast runs an after school programme within the camps designed to bring a unique educational initiative, language, music and creative learning to Saharawi children. Helping them gain the confidence to guide future generations and act as cultural ambassadors sharing their stories and the Saharawi heritage.
Although the marathon will be a challenge, I have never felt more privileged to be able to take part in this experience, the kindness and warmth felt from the community who welcome us to learn about their culture and share their stories is absolutely honourable.
Any donations will go towards supporting the children of the camps, improving their education and their future❤️
