Story
Why I’m Running:
I am a volunteer (Sevak) at Shree Hanuman Temple in Leicester, and I am proud to be part of a community that works with gratitude and devotion to advance our Hindu faith by promoting moral and spiritual values, and by providing a place of worship dedicated to Lord Shree Hanuman.

Our Story & The Challenge:
This temple, a recognised charity, opened in 2021 as a branch of the original temple in India and the first in Europe dedicated to a shrine of Lord Hanuman. We are deeply thankful for the support we have received so far, but our current facilities are no longer able to meet the needs of our growing congregation. At busy times, including festivals and special events throughout the year, we have had to rely on a marquee outside the temple to help accommodate the many devotees who visit.
I am fundraising through the Run Leicester Half Marathon on 11 October 2026, with a target of £1,000 to help us improve the temple site and create a welcoming space for everyone. We believe this project will provide high-quality community and religious facilities, improve safety and amenity in the park, and offer significant public benefit to people both within and beyond the Hindu community.
The Vision:
This is about more than a building. It is about creating a lasting place of worship and community pride, one that reflects Leicester’s diversity and brings people together. By supporting this appeal, you will help us put Leicester on the map, strengthen our international reputation, and improve Rushey Fields Recreation Ground for the benefit of all.
How You Can Help:
I kindly ask you to support my fundraising effort and help us build a better future for our temple and our wider community. Every contribution brings us closer to a space that can serve generations to come with dignity, care, and gratitude.
Thank you for your support and blessings!
