Story
In April 2026, I will be taking part in The TCS London Marathon to raise money for MS-UK!
I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in January 2025 after having experienced some health issues during the last couple of months of 2024. Going through diagnosis is a confusing and scary time where I have experienced a roller coaster of emotions and it has been quite mentally challenging to wrap my head around it all.
MS is a complex, chronic autoimmune condition which affects the central nervous system and there is currently no cure. It is unpredictable and everyone's MS journey is unique.
MS-UK is a national charity dedicated to empowering people affected by multiple sclerosis to live happier and healthier lives. They work to improve the understanding of MS and provide support where it is needed most. Support from such an organisation has been so important to me to know I am not alone and that there is a community on hand to make my MS journey easier.
I feel lucky in that I was diagnosed quickly - I know some other MS warriors can be in limbo for months/even years to reach that point.
Cliched as it is, MS has made me realise how blessed my life is and that living in the moment and appreciating the small things is really what matters!
I am super excited to be a member of #TeamPurple and take on the London Marathon. Running for me has always been a great way to stay fit, clear my head and enhance my general wellbeing and for this year in particular to have such a positive focus and goal is just so very important to me personally.
Thanks to each and every one of you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting this great charity! Every donation really does make a huge difference.
