Story
Running the London Marathon 2027 for HEART UK – The Cholesterol Charity is about far more than crossing a finish line for me.
I've dreamed of running the London Marathon ever since I lived in London many years ago. Standing on the sidelines and seeing thousands of ordinary people achieve something extraordinary inspired me, and I always hoped that one day I'd be one of them.
Sadly, my dad passed away after suffering a heart attack. During his illness, Heart UK provided valuable information and support about heart health, and their work has stayed close to my heart ever since. Being able to run the London Marathon for Heart UK feels like a very personal way to honour my dad's memory while helping the charity continue its vital work for other families.
This marathon will be one of the biggest challenges I've ever taken on. Every mile I run and every pound I raise will remind me why I started this journey. Knowing that the money raised could help improve awareness, education and support for people affected by cholesterol and heart disease will keep me going, even when the training gets tough.
Thank you so much for supporting me. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a genuine difference, and I'll be thinking of my dad with every step I take towards that finish line.
