Assalamualaikum / Peace be upon you.
2023 has already been a hard year for many of us and it is only April. With the cost of living crisis, many of us are being forced to cut down on luxuries and sometimes even essentials.
The forecasts say that this is not going to be a long crisis, shorter than previously predicted. As hard as it may be for the short term, at least there is an end is sight.
But for refugees around the world, this is their life. Forced to live in dark, damp and dingy tents with no end in sight. Nowhere to call home, no luxuries, and in some cases, no essentials. Many are forced to make dangerous, life risking journeys across tumultuous oceans, only to be rejected by counties such as our own and in some cases, by life itself.
Herts for refugees ensure that refugees get the support and respect they deserve by raising money to fund projects across Europe, Collecting and distributing donations to refugees and Volunteering with other organisations on the ground in France. This year they helped to arrange the procurement and delivery of a tent to allow the Muslim refugees have a place to pray this Ramadan.
As we start to draw a close to Ramadan 2023, I urge you to dig deep and find even a couple of pounds that you can donate to help the most vulnerable people.
The Prophet Mohammed (ﷺ) said that “Charity does not decrease your wealth”.
Jazakallah Khairan (May Allah reward you with goodness) and thank you very much.
