Why I’m Running the Great North Run for Alcohol Change UK
This year, I’ve decided to take on the Great North Run — not just as a personal challenge, but as a way to give back and support a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart.
I am now 18 months sober but I’ve had my own struggles with alcohol in the past. It’s something that impacted my life in more ways than I could ever fully explain. But I’ve also experienced the power of change — and I know how vital the right support and understanding can be.
That’s why I’m raising money for Alcohol Change UK. They work tirelessly to support people affected by alcohol harm — from offering life-saving information and resources, to campaigning for better services and creating real change in policy and attitudes.
By supporting my run, you’re helping them continue that vital work — helping more people to find hope, support, and a way forward.
If you can, please donate. Every pound makes a difference — not just to me, but to countless others walking a similar path.
Thank you so much.
