Story
At Sherbourne Fields Special School, every child deserves the chance to play, compete and discover the joy of sport in a safe, inclusive environment. A new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) will make that possible.
Think back to your own school days. For many of us, some of our happiest memories were made by simply kicking a football around with friends at break time. It's a simple pleasure—but one that isn't currently accessible to many of the children at Sherbourne Fields.
The school playground is shared by pupils with a wide range of physical needs, making active games difficult and, at times, unsafe. A dedicated MUGA will create a secure space where every child can enjoy sport with confidence. Those with additional needs will have a safe environment designed for them, while others can play freely without putting their classmates at risk.
The MUGA won't just transform breaktimes—it will also become an outdoor classroom, giving PE lessons a purpose-built space where pupils can build confidence, develop new skills and enjoy being active.
