Sam's fundraiser for Alcohol Change UK

Sam Salt is raising money for Alcohol Change UK

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·

Our wonderful runners are taking on the 2025 London Landmarks Half Marathon to fundraise for Alcohol Change UK.

Story

Hi my name is Sam and I’m 19

Im fundraising for Alcohol Change as sadly my mum suddenly passed away in August this year.

One of the main factors that had ended up in this outcome was alcohol, so I’d like to raise awareness about the dangers of heavy drinking and raise some money along the way for this great charity.

Im running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on April 6th 2025 as part of this fundraising. She wouldn’t have wanted me to sit around and feel sad about her so that’s why I feel it’s time to make a difference and make a positive effort towards her memory.

I understand money is tight at the moment but any donations really will be greatly appreciated by myself, my family and this fantastic charity.

Now for the hard work and pain to start!

Wish me luck 🏃🏻

Here’s some more about Alcohol Change UK:

We are Alcohol Change UK. We work for a society that is free from the harm caused by alcohol.

We are not anti-alcohol; we are for alcohol change. We are for a future in which people drink as a conscious choice, not a default; where the issues which lead to alcohol problems like poverty, mental health issues, homelessness are addressed; where those of us who drink too much, and our loved ones, have access to high-quality support whenever we need it, without shame or stigma.

How your donations can help:

* A donation of £20 could support around 20 people reduce their drinking through Dry January®.

* £30 could help us develop and deliver more training for front line workers and improve support for dependent drinkers.

* £40 could cover the costs of supporting 16 people for six months to reduce their drinking through our Try Dry® app.
