Story
It’s official - I’m running the 2026 London Landmarks Half Marathon.
Please ignore anything that says 2025. I was meant to run it last year, but then I fell pregnant with Zeke and the race landed just six days before my due date. Sensible me decided to defer.
Alcohol Change UK, the charity I’m running for, very kindly allowed me to do just that, and the countdown is now on to Sunday 12 April 2026.
Many of you will remember that on Good Friday 2024, we suddenly and unexpectedly lost my brother-in-law. He had battled mental health challenges for many years, and a series of health issues led to a very short, but ultimately fatal, struggle with alcohol addiction.
He left behind the strongest fiancée and four beautiful children who miss him every single day.

Tragically, this wasn’t the only alcohol-related death our family experienced in 2024, which is why this run - and this charity - mean so much to me.
Alcohol Change UK works towards a society free from the harm caused by alcohol. They are not anti-alcohol. They are for change. They support a future where drinking is a conscious choice, not a default, and where the underlying causes of alcohol harm, such as mental health struggles, poverty and homelessness, are properly addressed. They also ensure that people who need support, and their loved ones, can access it without shame or stigma.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps make a real difference. £20 could support around 20 people to reduce their drinking through Dry January®. £30 could help fund training for frontline workers and improve support for dependent drinkers. £40 could cover the cost of supporting 16 people for six months through the Try Dry® app.
Thank you so much for reading, sharing, donating, or cheering me on from the sidelines. It truly means more than I can say. 💛
