Story

My name is Lola Woolley and alongside a small group of peers from Alder Grange high school I am taking part in the Youth Enterprise Challenge 2024.

This is the first time since 2020 that this fund raising challenge has been run. The main aim is to raise funds for Rossendale Hospice. There are two schools in Rossendale taking part in the project in which we will compete to see which school team can raise the most money; with all proceeds going to Rossendale Hospice. In 2019 well over £5000 was raised across our district.

Rossendale Hospice are a charity and as such they have to raise 75% of their yearly £1,000,000 running costs theirselves.

Fundraising and retail income which the charity rely on so heavily was dramatically reduced during the COVID crisis whilst the need for their services across our community went up. Support for their cause is vital.

A bit about me. I am 15 years old, a keen fitness ethusiast and footballer. I play football for Accrington Stanley on Saturdays and Sundays for both the under 15s and under 16 teams. I am represent our district in the Rossendale schools girls football team for the second year running and train within Burnley Football clubs Emerging talent centre. I have always looked up to my Dad and his trail running challenges and hope to enter some of these once I am old enough! I have supported him at many events, my favourite being the Lakeland 50 and 100.

I have decided to trail run the Yorkshire 3 peaks and finish within the recognised 12 hour time challenge to raise money for the Hospice as part of our Youth Enterprise Challenge. My Dad will be running with me with my family supporting me at planned check points.

I would be really grateful if you could sponsor me to help this fantastic cause, no matter the amount.

This is a really important vital charity in our area. People who access the charity state it is often the highlight of their week.

Rossendale Hospice strives to improve the quality of life for everyone in Rossendale who is coping with life-limiting illness and are fully deserving of our support.

Thank you for taking your time to read this and thank you even more in advance for your support ❤️
