Sam, Stuart and Sean's fundraiser for RESTORE

Samantha Mostyn is raising money for RESTORE

Farewell walking tour around Restore's recovery groups · 6 November 2025

Restore is one of the longest-established and most highly-regarded community rehabilitation services in the UK. Since 1977, we have supported thousands of people to take control of their recovery, develop skills and lead meaningful lives through recovery groups, training and employment coaching.

Story

In late November, Sam and Stuart will be stepping down from the board of Restore after the maximum ten years. Restore is a fantastic charity, delivering impactful outcomes for people with mental ill-health through recovery groups, one-to-one coaching and training.

Stuart and Sam had intended to run the Oxford Half Marathon in October together. It was not to be. In training, Sam fractured her pelvis and Stuart set off a long-standing back problem - yes really... We will NOT be deterred though! Instead, we will be walking around Restore's recovery groups on a farewell tour in November during Trustees' Week and will be joined by a colleague Sean. The three of us will walk a 16 mile route, partially along the Thames Path, taking in our recovery groups at Fleet Meadow, Littlemore, Elder Stubbs, the Garden Cafe and the Beehive, along with our head office, coaching team and the Oxfordshire Recovery College. We'll also take a diversion to our founder's house - he set up Restore in 1977 and is still involved today.

Providing Restore's services has been extremely challenging over recent years owing to the changing fundraising landscape and decisions made in last year's Autumn budget. Please help me to give Restore a parting gift by sponsoring me on this farewell walk. Every contribution is much appreciated. Thank you.
