Story
Thanks for visiting our page. Sammy, Liz and Jen are raising money for St Giles Hospice, a charity that is very close to Sammy’s heart. Firstly it was where her sister, Stephanie, spent her last four months and since then other close friends have also spent their remaining days at the hospice.
Everybody was treated with such kindness, compassion, and dignity. We cannot thank them enough for the exceptional care they provided. The support they also offered to the families meant a great deal, during such difficult times.
For those who may not know Stephanie’s story, she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 23 and underwent a mastectomy. During the next 21 years, she endured countless treatments and fought tirelessly against this cruel disease with extraordinary courage and determination. Despite her unwavering strength, the heartbreaking day came on 11th June 2012 when, at the age of just 44, Stephanie passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Her courage, love, and beautiful spirit continue to inspire all who knew her.
St Giles Hospice spend nearly £10 million a year providing specialist services. With less than a quarter of this funded by the Government, they rely heavily on donations and income generation from the local community to continue their vital care.
Thanks for taking the time to read and in advance for your kind donation.
