The Lowdown is local charity in Northamptonshire a mental health charity providing free, safe, nonjudgemental and confidential mental health and support services for 8-25 year olds.

We aim to support every young person with the right help at the right time, empowering them to thrive.

Our services are designed to enable young people to talk, connect, explore their identity, build confidence, and feel a sense of belonging. We offer a caring environment where young people are always supported on their journey towards positive emotional health and wellbeing.

I initially heard about the lowdown through school and immediately took the opportunity to apply because it suited my interest. After getting an interview and being accepted into the youth advisory it doors for many opportunities like becoming the deputy chair of the youth advisory board, making speeches in front of over 90 people and overall boosting my confidence.

through the youth advisory I have improved my social skills which I heavily liked before. I enjoy attending a group of non-judgemental people where we are able to discuss and improve the service young people receive for their mental health.

The YAB is it comfortable space and enjoyable for young people.
