Story
We've supported Saying Goodbye for many years, I (Sarah) have sung at the saying goodbye services for around 9 years and then their support was needed in the greatest way last year. I (Beth) lost a beloved baby, my due date would have been a few weeks after the race, running has been an important part of my recovery along with the saying goodbye services. We also walked alongside a dear friend whos baby, Olive, was stillborn last year. Nothing can take the pain away but having some tools to put one foot in front of the other was invaluable.
When you experience baby loss, it is like the world stands still. It is like a trapdoor opens, and you fall into a world of trauma, pain and grief... No one chooses this journey, yet sadly 1-in-4 pregnancies will end this way and around 258,000 babies will be lost in the UK this year.
The Mariposa Trust is leading the way in providing services and support for anyone who is affected by the loss of a baby, at any stage of pregnancy, at birth or in infancy, whether recently or historically.
