I am attempting the Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday 7 April and will be running with my work, Sheffield Hallam University, to raise money for Sanctuary Scholarships which supports asylum seekers looking for a chance to study in Higher Education (find out more below). Sanctuary Scholarships recognise the determination, aspirations and resilience of asylum seeking students, and their abilities and potential to succeed. Sheffield Hallam University is a University of Sanctuary in recognition of its outstanding support for refugees and people seeking sanctuary across all areas of higher education. Through raising money by running the Sheffield Half Marathon, more financial support can be offered to those students attending Sheffield Hallam University to ensure they can have an immersive and positive experience.
