Story

Why I'm Taking the Leap

My father, Harry Caulfield, enlisted at the age of 15 at the Army Apprentices school, passing out into the Royal Engineers and remained for 38 years before retirement. My brother, also served in the Royal Engineers until his retirement.

On 23 September 2026, I'll be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life – a tandem skydive at Netheravon with the Royal Engineers Sports Skydive Team.

I'll be jumping alongside serving Royal Engineers, and while it's sure to be an incredible experience, I'm doing it for a much bigger reason: to raise money for The Sapper Charity.

The Sapper Charity provides lifelong support to serving Royal Engineers, veterans, and their families. From financial assistance and welfare support to help during times of crisis, recovery, ill health and hardship, the charity is there whenever members of the Royal Engineer family need it most.

I'm challenging myself because I believe those who have served our country – and the families who support them – deserve our support in return.

If you can, please sponsor me. Every donation, whatever the size, will help The Sapper Charity continue its vital work
