Story
I’ve always considered myself what some might call an ‘adrenaline junkie’. For as long as I can remember, I’ve relished the opportunity to push myself — both mentally and physically — taking on challenges that will get the heart thumping and the adrenaline pumping.
When I — along with my UNTHA UK teammates — selected Marie Curie as our charity of the year, I knew I wanted to do something extra special to help raise much-needed funds for the organisation committed to providing care and support to patients living with terminal illness.
Having taken on a charity skydive before — last time for ABF The Soldiers' Charity, in memory of my best friend’s husband, who died in Afghanistan — I was familiar with the challenge and knew it was something I’d love to do all over again for Marie Curie.
I’ve experienced firsthand the impact that this amazing organisation has. My late father received around-the-clock palliative care from the Marie Curie nurses, and I was blown away by how much care and attention each team member puts into their role — bringing a breath of fresh air to families in their darkest moments. Throughout their time looking after Dad, they couldn’t do enough for us all, showing true compassion, care, support, and dedication — something I will never forget.
And so, on Saturday 2nd September, I’ll be leaping out of the aeroplane door — harnessed to the front of a fully qualified parachuting instructor — at 15,000ft, in support of this amazing charity.
With the wider UNTHA UK team behind me, this is not just a personal adventure. Colleagues throughout the company are rolling their sleeves up and taking on a number of fundraising quests of their own.
I am proud to take the baton in UNTHA’s fundraising pledge, and I hope to raise at least £1,000 for the charity pot.
Please donate what you can to help me reach my fundraising goal.
