Story
This summer I will be joining a team of 100 Nacoa runners who are fundraising for The National Association For Children Of Alcoholics by participating in the 10k London Olympic Park on 11 July 2026.
The Nacoa team will be led by Calum Best, Josh Connolly, Ian Stringer, Rt. Hon. Jonathan Ashworth CBE and Scott Murdoch, who are united in raising awareness and vital funds to support children affected by a parent's drinking.
The need for this cause is immense and urgent. Nacoa’s free and confidential helpline stands as a beacon of hope and support for children and adults impacted by parental alcohol problems.
The helpline offers a safe space to share feelings and experiences and often just talking to someone who understands can bring comfort and strength. This service is at the heart of Nacoa’s work, providing empathy and guidance when it’s needed most.
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a significant difference to this vital charity.
So, after a long break from running and with less than eight weeks to train, I am preparing to lace up my running shoes and your encouragement means the world to me!
Together, we can help ensure that Nacoa continues its valuable work reaching those who need it most.
Please join me in supporting this important cause. Every penny counts in helping children affected by parental alcohol problems know that they are not alone.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this far and for any contribution that you make.
1 in 5 people in the UK are affected by a parent's drinking. #URNotAlone
With lots of love
