Story

FIVE COUNTIES.

ONE REASON.

The Trent--Severn Hike for Sarcoma UK.

In October 2025, our lives changed overnight when my little brother was diagnosed with sarcoma — a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

Nothing prepares you for hearing those words, and since then our family has been on a journey filled with fear, resilience, hope, and an incredible amount of love.

Watching someone you care about go through treatment is heartbreaking, but it has also shown us just how strong he truly is. His courage, humour, and determination inspire us every single day, and they’re the reason we want to do something positive in the middle of such a difficult time.

That’s why we’re raising money for Sarcoma UK — a charity dedicated to funding vital research, supporting patients and families, and raising awareness of this rare cancer. The support they provide makes a real difference to people facing sarcoma, and we want to help them continue their life-changing work.

To raise funds, a group of our close friends and family will be taking on a three-day walking challenge. We’ll be setting off from The City Ground, Nottingham and walking all the way to British Camp Fort in Malvern Hills, starting on Friday 22nd May.

It will be a tough but meaningful journey, and every step we take is for my brother and everyone affected by sarcoma.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help fund research into better treatments, provide support services for families like ours, and bring hope to everyone facing this disease.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story, for your kindness, and for standing with us and my brother. It truly means the world to our family.

Of course, if anyone feels inspired to join us on the challenge, please reach out and we'll provide the finer details.

All the love and hope in the world,

Joseph, Thomas, Kate, George & family.
