I am joining Team IDAS in the York 10K 2026 because I want to make sure that anyone subjected to domestic abuse or sexual violence can access support.

IDAS is the largest specialist charity in Yorkshire, supporting women, men and children who have been subjected to domestic abuse in York, North Yorkshire, Barnsley, and Sheffield. They provide safe accommodation in Doncaster, and support to victims and survivors of sexual violence across North Yorkshire. Their services include a free, confidential helpline, one-to-one and group support in their local communities, and emergency refuge accommodation.

Each year IDAS receives 27,000 referrals, answers 32,500 helpline calls, supports more than 11,000 people in their local communities, and accommodates 250 individuals families in their emergency refuge accommodation.

IDAS need our support so that they can reach more people whose lives have been devastated by violence and abuse. Please give as much as you can.

Having spent some time volunteering for IDAS, I saw firsthand how hard everyone at IDAS works to support all victims and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence. I also gained a lot of insight into how much their help and support has such a significant impact on improving and saving people’s lives. I am really grateful to have now been given the opportunity to fundraise for IDAS and would really appreciate any donations as I would love to support IDAS in any way that I can so they can continue to provide support to anyone who needs their help.
