Story
Hi, we're Scott and Vicky.
Back in 2023, Scott was very fortunate to have the opportunity to work on a project, looking at early onset neurological diseases. As part of this, he was invited to The Brain Bank at Imperial College where he saw with his own eyes the devastating impact that cruel diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's can have on the human brain.
Having had family members go through dementia, we saw first hand the psychological impact it can have on both the person inflicted and the people around them.
As you also may (or may not) know, we are runners. In October, we are going to be in Chicago for the Chicago Marathon because Vicky managed to qualify for a Good for Age. We figured that as we were both going to be there anyway, it would be a great opportunity to see if we could raise some money for a worthwhile cause. When we saw an opportunity with Alzheimer's Research UK, I knew that this was the one for us.
As a result, Scott applied for a charity place for the Chicago Marathon and three weeks later, we are both running the New York Marathon. We would like to use this as a lever to raise money for such an excellent cause.
We have pledged to raise £2000 and our company has offered to donate a significant portion to ensure that we will at least make the minimum pledge. However, we would like to smash that. We can only do it with you help.
Thank you
Scott and Vicky
