Taking on the Eroica Route! 🚲 134km of Vintage Steel for Dementia Adventure**

This year, I’m putting my legs—and a classic vintage bike—to the ultimate test! I’m taking on the **Eroica Medium Route**, a legendary cycling challenge that combines retro style with 134 kilometers of punishing terrain.

The Challenge

Eroica isn't your average bike ride. It’s a grueling event celebrating the heroic, old-school age of cycling. That means:

Classic Steel:Riding a pre-1987 vintage road bike with down-tube shifters and toe clips—no modern carbon fiber, low gearing, or electronic shifting to save the day!

134 Kilometers (83 Miles): Hours of continuous pedaling, steep climbs, and relentless endurance testing.

The "Strade Bianche": Long stretches of unpaved, dusty gravel roads that demand constant balance, focus, and grit.

It’s going to be a long day of sore legs, steep hills, vintage gear, and plenty of gravel dust—but every mile will be worth it.

Why Dementia Adventure?

I’m pushing through these 134km to raise crucial funds for **Dementia Adventure**.

Dementia Adventure is a wonderful charity dedicated to helping people living with dementia get outdoors, connect with nature, and retain a sense of adventure. They provide supported holidays, outdoor activities, and practical training for carers, proving that a dementia diagnosis shouldn't mean the end of enjoying the natural world.

Nature and the outdoors bring so much joy and health benefits to us all, and the money raised will directly help people with dementia continue to experience that freedom.

Training on a vintage setup is no joke, and knowing I have your backing will keep me turning the pedals when the legs start to burn on those gravel climbs!
