Scott Motley is raising money for PROSTATE CANCER UK

Team: Prostate Paul’s 588 mile March Through Life’s Magnificent Team💙

1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. At Prostate Cancer UK, we’re giving every man the power to navigate it. With over £100 million invested in research, treatment, and care, we’re building a future where prostate cancer no longer cuts men’s lives short. Together, we can help save men’s lives.

Story

From the 3rd of August to the 17th of September my old friend Paul Dennington is walking from his birthplace in Newcastle to where he grew up in Neston on the Wirral and then all the way to where he now lives in Kent. That's 588 miles! I'm doing a small part (2 days) of this epic walk with Paul, Julien Nelson and a few other friends and family.

Paul was diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer a few years back. Prostate cancer is now the number one diagnosed cancer in the UK. 1 in 8 men (1 in 4 if you are black or have family history) are diagnosed in their lifetime. That’s 50,000+ men every year - fathers, husbands, brothers, close friends etc. some of whom, like Paul are caught too late to be cured.

Paul is taking on this huge challenge 4.5 years in to a 5-8 year prognosis. Aged 59 and with only circa 10% of his testosterone levels due to his daily treatment. this will be extremely tough - but NOT because of his cancer! With the amazing support of his wife in particular, family and friends he wants to raise awareness of the cancer, it’s risks, drive testing and raise valuable funds..
