Story
I’m raising money for SuperTroop, an incredible charity that I have volunteered for since 2019. See the gallery of photos on this page for some action shots of me involved with the charity.
The Challenge
From the 12th-13th September, alongside some other volunteers from SuperTroop, I will be embarking on a challenge to climb the 6 highest peaks in the UK in 24 hours.
The challenge will start with climbing the five 4,000+ft peaks in the Cairngorms (Cairn Gorm, Ben Macdui, Cairn Toul, Sgòr an Lochain Uaine, & Braeriach), before travelling west to do a nighttime climb of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK.
It will involve long hours on the Munros with over 45km of walking and around 12,000ft of elevation gain, plus very little time for rest, making it a real test of endurance, teamwork and determination.
Why Support SuperTroop
Each year, SuperTroop runs a holiday for children and young people (holidaymakers) with disabilities to provide them magical new opportunities and experiences for independence. The holidaymakers are given the opportunity to enjoy a break, have fun and take part in activities they would otherwise not get the chance to experience.
Importantly, it also offers families of the holidaymakers a week-long break so they can rest, spend time with other family and have some time to themselves.
I’ve been involved with SuperTroop since I was 17, back in 2019. Seeing the positive impact first-hand these holidays have on both the families and children who attend is incredibly rewarding, and it’s a charity I’m proud to volunteer with and support.
SuperTroop heavily relies on donations to operate and there is no other service in Scotland quite like it. Every donation, no matter the size, helps make these experiences possible for more for children and young people with disabilities and their families.
Thank you so much for your support - it genuinely makes a HUGE difference to the holidaymakers and families who benefit from SuperTroop.
