Story
Thank you for visiting Seyed's Sweatember Challenge fundraising page for Sharewear Clothing Scheme, set up by Sharewear CEO on behalf of Seyed, with his permission. He really wants to support us, but being an asylum seeker he struggles with English so asked me, Louise, to set this up for him.
Since arriving in the UK to seek safety I have had a very warm welcome from the local community. I want to give something back to that community by raising funds for Sharewear, who support thousands of people seeking safety every year, by offering them free clothing. Sharewear help them, and now I can try to help Sharewear.
Whilst it's well known that 'free of charge' physical activity is good for our mental health and wellbeing, people unable to afford the cost of appropriate clothing miss out on exercise, simply because they don't have appropriate basic clothing to take part.
During the cost of living crisis, Sharewear is seeing a hugely increased number of people needing to access their services, and the most requested items are jogging bottoms, trainers, good shoes for walking & coats. Their service users can't take steps to improve their mental health without our support, but Sharewear can't meet the rising need without your help.
Sharewear will spend the funds raised on buying jogging bottoms at cost directly from a manufacturer when their supplies run low, as well as on the collection of trainers from all those outlets taking part in their #Trainers4Trainers appeal.
Thank you for your support.
