Story
Throughout September, Team Sharewear and their supporters will be taking on a range of physical challenges to support our ongoing #noWeartorun campaign.
Whilst it's well known that 'free of charge' physical activity is good for our mental health and wellbeing, people unable to afford the cost of appropriate clothing miss out on exercise, simply because they don't have appropriate basic clothing to take part.
During the cost of living crisis, Sharewear is seeing a hugely increased number of people needing to access our services, and the most requested items are jogging bottoms, trainers, good shoes for walking and coats. None of our service users can take steps to improve their mental health without our support, but we can't meet the rising need without your help.
This #Sweatember help us to raise £2500 to make sure we can get these essentials to people who need them. We'll spend the funds on buying jogging bottoms at cost directly from a manufacturer when our supplies run low, as well as covering our transport costs to collect trainers from all those outlets taking part in our #Trainers4Trainers appeal and to deliver this type of clothing to our outreach partners.
So, whether it's beating your keepie-uppie record, running 5k a day, completing a gruelling hike or non-stop skipping, we're asking you to get sweaty this September so that people who can't currently take part in exercise can have the same opportunities to do so as you.
