Story

It turns out that 26.2 miles is a really long way. Like a really long way. It’s a long way in a car, let alone running it. This is a huge challenge for me…

I’ll be running (walking & crawling) for a brilliant charity, The Woking & Sam Beare Hospice. Many of you will know about the hospice and how vital their service is to our community either because you’ve been directly impacted by their brilliant care or because you’ve heard about them. In my opinion, the specialist palliative care they provide for individuals who have life-limiting and terminal illnesses is incredible. Alongside their patient care, they provide much-needed support for the families of those patients, too. As a charity, the hospice depends on 90% of donations, so it is heavily reliant on fundraisers and sponsors.

On a personal level, the hospice is an important part of our family's life as my wife (Melody) is a Registered Nurse for the hospice, supporting and caring for patients in their end-of-life care. A vocation that demands so much from her and her brilliant colleagues.

I feel confident that if I or any of my loved ones ever needed the support of the Woking and Sam Beare hospice team that they would receive outstanding and compassionate care. With your donation, they can continue this high level of palliative care with the right resources and facilities.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please donate what you can; every £ is gratefully received and…. remember me next time you travel 26.2 miles in the car.

Simon.
