Story

Thank you so much for supporting my challenge for Guide Dogs UK in 2025.

I have a number of existing health difficulties which I have had for the past 3 years as a result of long covid. I have worked hard to regain my mobility, having had my fitness and ability to walk so abruptly taken from me for so long.

I set myself an initial challenge to walk the Glasgow Kilt Walk 23 miles. On my success with this, I then set a further challenge to complete all 4 Kiltwalk, Glasgow, Aberdeen 18 miles Dundee 20 miles and Edinburgh 11 miles. I have also incorporated a number of cold water swims in my fitness training at Inveruglas Loch Lomond 800m, Go Swim Loch Lomond/Balloch 750m, and Go Swim Loch Tay 750m

During this adventure I have gained many new friendships and business sponsorships who have fully supported me and at times accompanied me on my challenges, also providing financial support to help reach my target goal of £5000,00. I am well on course to complete this target having raised £4034.00.

I feel very proud to be able to give something back to anyone whose sight is challenged. A guide dog will allow them to live an independent life, how they chose live it without barriers and not being defined by their disability.

Never underestimate the difference a dog can make to someone’s life. There is nothing more special than the remarkable dogs of the Guide Dogs Uk
