Story
In February, my nephew Laird and I participated in an at home Superhero Triathlon. We did it over a period of 4 weeks.
This time my niece Zara and I will be doing it all on one day. Well, that's a bit of a stretch. Zara will be the superhero and I will be her sidekick "helping" her - not actually doing it all again. Zara is amazing at triathlon back in Dubai and as she is over visiting us in Scotland, she is not only going to do it, but do it in the one day. I am in awe!
Superhero Series is the UK's one and only disability sports series for the Everyday Superhero! The mission is simple: to create fun, full-throttle, mass-participation sports events where people with disabilities – AKA Everyday Superheroes – call the shots & don’t have to worry about cut-off times or equipment restrictions. Zara and I both have disabilities.
Zara will be undertaking a 750m swim, a cycle of 20km and a walk/run of 5km. She will be doing it with our exercise bikes, treadmill and then a trip to the local swimming pool. I will be her driver, water filler and general cheerleader!
We will be doing this fundraiser in aid of Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK) who I work for. DSUK have over 40 year's experience teaching adaptive Snowsports, with a vision of removing barriers through skiing & snowboarding. They believe that everyone has the right to access the unique physical, mental & social benefits of Snowsport, regardless of disability, injury, or experience.
Please donate what you can - we know times are tough, and every donations makes a difference - no matter how big or small it is.
Love Sharryn & Zara
xx
