Story
Last September my life changed over night when I was told I had a 16x14x11cm cyst on one of my ovaries. Two weeks later it twisted round my ovary 3 times and tried to kill me. I had emergency surgery to save my life from Sepsis and had to wait 6 weeks to find out if it was cancer or not. Thankfully it wasn't, but with the emotional cost of loosing an ovary, hormones raging, post surgery pain, finding out I had a benign tumour on another cyst on my other ovary and dealing with the mental and physical trauma of emergency surgery (the first time I'd ever had surgery), my mental health declined. I had to take 3 months off work to recover and was brave enough to seek help for my mental health...
Big Moose stepped in...
Big Moose are a mental health charity that vow to get you a councillor within 24 hours. I sent an email at 3am asking for 'hope'. At 8.35am Chloe from Big Moose said she was on the case and by lunchtime, I had a meeting set up with a wonderful therapist called Tanya.
I have now had 12 sessions with Tanya with Big Moose covering the costs 100%. Without this, I don't know where my mental health would have been! I wasn't working so had no way of paying for treatment and the NHS waiting lists for mental health are years away.
So, this year, still recovering, I am running the Big Moose charity fun run in Bute Park on April 13th to raise money to give back for the wonderful treatments I have had. This will enable another person like me, going through a tough time to have the charitable counselling I so needed.
Please give all you can to help me raise £1200 OR MORE!
Thank you and wish me luck!
